Paraphrase:

This is an imaginative anonymous poem. Here the poet talks about his/ her love for his books. The poet says that in books one can find queens and fairies, knights and gnomes. Whenever the poet reads a book he find some strange character, person, creature that is big or small who welcomes him in a most friendly manner and takes him to a wonderland. The poet compares the book to be a busy city street where he meets people about whom he had already read before. All these strange persons and characters take him on adventure that make him laugh and sing and be happy.

  2. quaint : unusual or old fashioned and attractive.
  3. knight: a person of high social rank
  4. gnome: a small man with pointed hat living underground (imaginary)
  5. hearty: friendly and full of energy

I love how the book makes me imagine and feel happy. It’s like a treasure
full of fun and surprises on every page!
