ANSWER: Three things are necessary for the formation of shadow:
- a source of light
- an object

(b) When can an object be seen ?
ANSWER: We see the object when the reflected rays of light from the object reach our eyes.
(c) What is a shadow ?
ANSWER: If an opaque object comes in the way of a light source, light does not pass through it. As a result, the light does not reach a wall or any other surface on the other side of the object and that part remains dark. This dark part is called the ‘shadow of the object’.
