(A) What’s the solution ? Gurpreet has to go for a hobby class on a hot summer afternoon. She needs to be told what to do to protect herself from the heat.
Ans. To protect herself from heat in a hot summer afternoon Gurpreet must wear white colored cotton clothes and drink plenty of water.

(B) Think and tell.

    Ans: If there are furry animals living in snowy regions, their coats would be thick to protect them from the cold.

    Ans. These fruit trees grow in those particular regions because these regions have a particular climate suitable for their growth. Trees grow well in regions where they find suitable weather, sunshine and rainfall.

    Ans. The plants give us many things like food grains, vegetables, fruits,
    owers, etc. They provide us with bres like cotton and wool to make clothes. They provide us oxygen to live and wood to built our shelter. They also provide shade to many animals and birds.
  2. What is meant by `arboreal’ animals ?
    Ans Animals that live on trees are called arboreal animals. The examples are monkeys and squirrels.
  3. What changes do we see in trees at the beginning of March ?
    Ans. Many trees get new leaves in the month of March. The forests appear to have a copper color as the leaves are shiny and reddish while they are tender. Their color changes to green as the leaves grow bigger. We can also hear the sound of the cuckoo bird.
