Q1. Answer the following questions in short:
(a) Who were the musicians?
ANSWER: The musicians were a donkey, a dog, a cat and a cock.

(b) Did the musicians belong to Bremen town?
ANSWER: No, the musicians did not belong to the Bremen town.

(c) Why did the donkey have to leave his master’s house?
ANSWER: The donkey had to leave his master’s house because his master had began to starve him and treat him unkindly.

(d) Why were the following unhappy –
(i) the dog: becaue he had been kicked out of the house by his cruel master
(ii) the cat: because he came to know that his mistress was going to drown him
(iii) the cock: because his mistress had ordered the cook to kill him for the feast

(e) Was the donkey good-hearted? How do we know that?
ANSWER: yes, the donkey was kind-hearted. We know this because he had helped other animals in the story.

(f) Was the idea of singing to the robbers really clever?
ANSWER: Yes, the idea of singing to robbers was clever as it frightened the robbers.

(g) What effect did the musicians’ singing have?
ANSWER: The musicians’ singing frightened the robbers and they ran off into the forest with fear.

Q2. Tell what happened to the robber who went back to the house.
ANSWER: The angry cat flew at the robber and scratched his face this frightened the robber and he ran out of the house. As he ran the dog bit his leg hard due to which he fell on the donkey. The donkey gave a smart kick with its hind legs. The cock had been screaming in the robber’s ear and flapping his wings around his head. The robber nearly died of fright.

Q3. Write the opposites of:
ANSWER:

Starve – feed
Cruel – kind
Sadly – happily
Loud – quiet/ soft
Huge – small/ tiny
Hind legs – fore legs
Happiness – sadness

Q4. Write an imaginary conversation among the four musicians living in the house in the forest.
ANSWER:
Mozzy (Mosquito, the Violinist): Hey pals, fancy a jam session tonight?
Tweeto (Bird, the Flutist): Absolutely! I’ll chirp in with my flute.
Pawsy (Cat, the Pianist): Meow-sic to my ears! I’ll play some soft piano.
Hopsy (Rabbit, the drummer): Hop-tastic! I’ll drum up a beat. Our forest concert starts at sunset!

The students can use the above conversation as an example and come up with their own ideas.
