Preposition :

A preposition is a word that connects one thing with another, showing how they are related.

Examples:

• The bird is flying in the sky.

• He poured the hot milk into the glass.

• The pen fell off the table.

Features of Preposition:

• A preposition is usually followed by a noun or pronoun.

•  

  Some prepositions tell you about position or place.

  1. We watch movies on Saturdays.

  2. We watched the Olympics games until 1:00 a.m.

  3. The students study during exams.

  4. We always wash fruits before eating.

  5. We wake up early in the morning.

  6. We watch news at night.

  7. It’s always cold in winter.

  8. The program starts at six in the evening.

  9. He took the job in 1985.

  10. The boy arrived after his mother.

  11. I had no holidays for four weeks.

  12. Lucy and Yohan had been in the same class since first grade.

• Exercise 1 :  Underline the prepositions in the following sentences.
